EDWATEC Secures CHF 2.5 Million Non-Dilutive Grant from Innosuisse
We are proud to announce that EDWATEC has been awarded a CHF 2.5 million non-dilutive grant from Innosuisse, Switzerland’s innovation agency, through its prestigious Startup Innovation Projects program.

This highly competitive funding represents a major milestone for EDWATEC and will accelerate the industrialization and commercialization of our Erbium-Doped Photonic Integrated Circuits (EDWAs). These circuits are at the forefront of next-generation optical amplification and lasing, offering compact, scalable, and energy-efficient solutions for telecommunications, data centers, fiber sensing, and space-based communications.
With Innosuisse’s support, EDWATEC will:
- Transfer its proprietary EDWA (Erbium-Doped Waveguide Amplifier) technology to leading silicon photonics foundries, ensuring full compatibility with industry-grade platforms.
- Demonstrate high-volume packaging and reliability of integrated amplifiers for deployment in demanding environments.
- Reinforce strategic partnerships with key industrial players and scale operations toward global market entry.
We are deeply grateful to the Innosuisse evaluation committee and the Swiss government for their continued trust in deeptech ventures. This support not only validates our vision but also strengthens Switzerland’s position as a global hub for photonics and integrated optical technologies.
