EDWATEC featured in 24 heures and Tribune de Genève

24 heures and Tribune de Genève feature EDWATEC in an in-depth article exploring how our integrated optical amplifiers can support the next generation of AI data centers and strengthen Switzerland’s role in the future AI market.

EDWATEC was recently featured in two major Swiss newspapers, 24 heures and Tribune de Genève, in an in-depth article introducing our technology and vision to a broader public audience.

The article explores the growing importance of optical interconnects for future AI infrastructure and explains how EDWATEC’s integrated optical amplifiers can help overcome one of the key bottlenecks in scaling data transmission inside and between data centers. It also highlights our approach to miniaturizing optical amplification from conventional fiber-based systems to millimeter-scale photonic chips that can be integrated much closer to processors.

The article also presents EDWATEC’s journey from EPFL research to industrialization, our growing team at the EPFL Innovation Park, and our ambition to strengthen Switzerland’s and Europe’s position in the rapidly expanding global AI and semiconductor markets.

We thank journalist Pierre-Alexandre Sallier for taking the time to discover our work, understand our vision, and turn a highly technical topic into a clear and compelling story for the public. We also thank the entire EDWATEC team, whose energy and hard work make this progress possible.
