Cofounder Tobias J Kippenberg Honored with 2025 Marcel Benoist Swiss Science Prize
EDWATEC congratulates our co-founder, Tobias J. Kippenberg, on being awarded the Marcel Benoist Swiss Science Prize 2025, often referred to as the Swiss Nobel Prize.

Professor Kippenberg is internationally recognized for pioneering microresonator-based Kerr frequency combs, which have transformed precision metrology, spectroscopy, and optical communications, and for groundbreaking work in optomechanics, where his group achieved quantum control of macroscopic mechanical systems. Together, these contributions have defined new frontiers in integrated photonics and quantum optics.
We are proud to build on this foundation in advancing our mission to bring erbium-doped photonic integrated amplifiers and lasers (EDWA/EDWL) to market, enabling next-generation optical communication and quantum technologies.
