Seminar at RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing

EDWATEC’s CTO and co-founder Amir Youssefi will present its erbium-doped photonic integrated circuit platform at the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing in Japan on April 17, 2026.

EDWATEC will be present at the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing (RQC), where its CTO and co-founder, Amir Youssefi, will deliver a seminar on April 17, 2026.

RIKEN is one of Japan’s most prominent national research institutions, with major campuses across the country, including the Wako campus near Tokyo, where the Center for Quantum Computing is based. The center is dedicated to advancing quantum technologies and brings together expertise in quantum science, photonics, and computing systems, making it a key hub for interdisciplinary research in Japan.

In this seminar, Amir Youssefi will present EDWATEC’s erbium-doped photonic integrated circuit (Er-PIC) platform, which enables optical amplification and lasing directly on chip. Integrating optical gain within photonic circuits addresses a long-standing limitation in silicon photonics and enables more compact and scalable system architectures. The talk will also highlight how such technologies can support applications ranging from high-speed optical interconnects to emerging quantum photonic systems.

The seminar will be held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and remote participation. It is open to researchers and engineers working in photonics, quantum technologies, and related fields, and is intended to encourage technical exchange and discussion.

We welcome colleagues from across the photonics and quantum communities in Japan to join the seminar.
